As part of Alberta Works Week, more than 60 free events will be hosted in nearly 30 communities across the province from April 25 to 29, to help Albertans re-enter the workforce or transition into new careers.

“Every Albertan should be able to make ends meet and put food on the table. In today’s challenging economy and competitive labour market, it is more important than ever that Albertans have the support they need to succeed in the workforce. Alberta Works Week focuses on ensuring Albertans are connected to tools and resources that will enable them to find rewarding employment.”

Irfan Sabir, Minister of Human Services

“Alberta Works Week is a great opportunity for connecting students and job seekers with the employment and training services they need to achieve success in a modern, diverse workforce. These events will help under-represented Albertans gain meaningful employment, including women, Indigenous peoples and new Canadians.”

Christina Gray, Minister of Labour

“BGS is proud to partner with Human Services in helping Albertans get back to work. From one-to-one guidance to group seminars and job-search tools, Alberta Works Week showcases all of the expertise and information Albertans can access to support their job search and career planning activities.”

Joe MacKay, President and CEO, BGS Enterprises

Inspiring Alberta Works success stories will be shared throughout the week to highlight how Albertans have overcome challenges and achieved employment success.
