Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park

Alberta Parks’ online reservation system will open February 22 for regular campsite bookings

Regular campsite bookings available on RAP will be preceded by group campsite (February 8) and comfort camping (February 16) reservations, also beginning at 9 a.m.

“The reservation system is a popular innovation that continues to grow and provide an important service to our camping community. I like that it allows users to preplan their camping experience and escape into our provincial parks system long before summer’s arrival.”

Shannon Phillips, Minister of Environment and Parks

Alberta Parks will again offer staggered reservation times by region for regular campsites. Regular campsites bookings are 90 days in advance, so the February 22 opening allows campers to book for the May long weekend. RAP regular campsite reservation time openings are as follows:

  • South region at 9 a.m.
  • Kananaskis Country at 11 a.m.
  • Central region at 1 p.m.
  • Northwest/east region at 3 p.m.

Enhanced offerings on the RAP system this year include the addition of new campgrounds, group sites and comfort camping. The RAP system now features more than 70 provincial campgrounds with more than 6,000 campsites available to be reserved, 154 group camping areas and 32 comfort camping units.

As part of government’s commitment to continuous improvement of its programs and services, mobile access to the RAP site is expected this spring.

Campers looking for early season supplies and apparel are invited to check out the latest offerings at the Alberta Parks eStore.
