Nominate an Albertan for a Minister's Seniors Service Award

Edmonton...
Albertans have until February 26 to submit nominations for the 2010 Minister’s Seniors Service Awards. Held each year, the awards recognize individuals and organizations for their exceptional service and commitment to Alberta's seniors.

“I encourage everyone to submit a nomination to ensure we recognize the many outstanding volunteers and organizations dedicated to supporting our seniors,” said Mary Anne Jablonski, Minister of Seniors and Community Supports.”

Individuals of any age or organizations can be nominated for an award. The deadline for submitting nominations is February 26. The nominations will be reviewed based on volunteer services provided directly to seniors. Award recipients will be honoured at a special ceremony at Government House in Edmonton during Seniors' Week, from June 7 - 13.

Nomination packages are available by calling the Seniors Information Line at 1-800-642-3853 (780-427-7876 in Edmonton area) or by visiting www.seniors.alberta.ca/awards/service_awards.
